PONT (Prespa-Ohrid Nature Trust)
Prespa-Ohrid Nature Trust (PONT) is a cross-border conservation trust fund established in 2015 with support from the MAVA Foundation and BMZ through KfW, aimed at providing long-term funding for nature conservation in the Prespa-Ohrid region.
PONT supports institutions and organizations in conserving biodiversity and natural processes, encourages regional cooperation, and promotes sustainable management of protected areas.
Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning (MoEPP)
State body responsible for the protection and monitoring of natural resources – flora, fauna, geodiversity, and protected areas.
It coordinates spatial planning and monitoring, manages information systems, and provides control and support in the implementation of national and international nature conservation initiatives.
Macedonian Ecological Society (MES / МЕД)
Founded in 1972, MES is a central ecological organization in North Macedonia.
Its main goals are promoting ecological sciences and education, raising public awareness, advocating for better environmental policies, and monitoring environmental quality, with a specific focus on nature and biodiversity conservation.
