As the oldest national park in North Macedonia (established in 1948), Pelister is located in the country’s southwestern region on Baba Mountain. Spanning 17,150 hectares across the municipalities of Bitola and Resen, it features diverse landscapes ranging from dense Molika pine forests to alpine pastures and glacial lakes. Its highest summit, Pelister Peak (2,601 m), is the second-highest point on Baba Mountain.
The park boasts a rich hydrographic network with numerous streams, springs, and valleys that create a unique microclimatic mosaic. Among its most famous landmarks are the ‘Pelister Eyes’ — two striking glacial lakes situated at altitudes of 2,218 m and 2,180 m above sea level.
