We are pleased to announce that activities to remove the ruins of the building at the “Lovechka” location have begun. This facility, which was damaged by fire in November 2021, has long posed a safety risk to hikers and, unfortunately, was often used as a site for improper waste disposal.
Cleaning and Environmental Protection
The undertaken demolition and cleanup activities are a crucial step toward increasing safety for all Pelister National Park visitors. By removing the unofficial dump site that had formed around the ruins, we are directly contributing to the protection of nature in this high-mountain zone at 2,000 meters above sea level.
A New Multi-Functional Facility on the Horizon
Construction of a new, modern multi-purpose facility will soon begin at the same location. This center will serve as a key point for:
- Fire protection and rapid intervention
- Video monitoring of rare species in the park
- A meteorological station for precise real-time data
A Modern Shelter for All Hikers
In addition to its technical purpose, the new facility will also function as a modern shelter. This will be a significant benefit for all visitors to Pelister National Park, offering safety and shelter during adverse weather conditions in the high areas of Baba Mountain.
