The Kamenjar Trail (Rocky Trail), considered one of the most beautiful and challenging mountain trails in Macedonia, is now safer for all hikers. Pelister National Park has successfully completed the installation of a new steel rope with a total length of 90 meters.
Technical Upgrades of Critical Sections
The new equipment has been installed across several sections along the stretch between the Vidikovac locality (2,000 m a.s.l.) and Mount Stiv (2,468 m a.s.l.). This intervention significantly increases safety during the climb and facilitates movement through the rocky terrain, which is of crucial importance during changing weather conditions.
Breathtaking Panoramic Views
The trail starts from Hotel Molika (1,430 m a.s.l.), passes through Kopanki, and continues along the northeastern edge of Baba Mountain. In the zone above 2,000 meters, hikers are rewarded with spectacular views:
- South and West: Prespa Lake and the mountain ranges in Greece and Albania.
- North: Solunska Glava is clearly visible.
- East: On a clear horizon, the view across Kajmakchalan stretches all the way to Rila and Pirin in Bulgaria.
