This is the most scenic, yet simultaneously one of the most challenging circular mountain biking tours in the National Park. It combines a visit to the glacial Golemo Ezero with one of the most famous and best technical MTB descents in the country.

Detailed Trail Description

Ascent Toward Golemo Ezero:

The tour starts from the NP Pelister Info Center (approx. 1,250 m). The route gradually ascends along a wide macadam road, passing through a forest belt that transitions in the upper part into expansive mountain meadows. The ascent ends at Golemo Ezero (approx. 2,200 m), offering magnificent panoramic views toward Lake Prespa and Pelister Peak.

Descent via “Debel Rid”:

From the lake follows the iconic descent along the Debel Rid trail toward the Nizhe Pole settlement (1,150 m). This section is about 7 kilometers long and presents a serious technical challenge. It is characterized by steep terrain, many loose stones, and narrow segments, requiring exceptional experience and excellent bike control.

Return to the Info Center:

From Nizhe Pole, the tour continues along a dynamic combination of macadam and asphalt. The route moves alongside the collector canal and passes through the village of Trnovo, closing the loop back to the starting point at the Info Center.
