Pelister National Park hosted a major mountaineering event, celebrating Mountain Day in the best possible way. Over 500 hikers from all over North Macedonia gathered to hike the trails of Baba Mountain together and celebrate their love for mountaineering.
Promotion of the New Hiking Trail
The main focus of the day was the new trail leading from the village of Capari all the way to the Caparska Preseka locality. Participants had the opportunity to be the first to experience the beauty of this section, which offers stunning landscapes and a new approach to the park’s higher zones. The action was organized excellently by the Macedonian Mountaineering Sports Federation (FPSM), PSK Pelister, and Pelister National Park.
Award Ceremony at the Info Center
Following the successful completion of the hiking activity, the event continued with entertainment and socializing at the Pelister Info Center. As part of the ceremony, the Macedonian Mountaineering Sports Federation (FPSM) presented awards for significant achievements in mountaineering, highlighting the contribution of individuals and clubs to the development of this sport.
Joint Celebration of Mountain Day
For the first time in North Macedonia, the central celebration of Mountain Day took place right here on Pelister. This mass event is proof of the excellent cooperation between institutions and the mountaineering community, with a shared goal – promoting active tourism and preserving natural values.
