This off-road adventure leads to the very ‘roof’ of Pelister National Park. The tour is designed for lovers of true off-road challenges, enabling motorized access to the highest point of Baba Mountain, recognizable by its imposing telecommunications tower (Antenna).

Detailed Tour & Activity Description

Start and Shiroka Locality:

The tour typically starts from the park’s Info Center (1,360 m) and moves along the forest road toward the Palisnopje locality. After exiting the dense Molika pine forest, it enters the open high-mountain valley called “Shiroka,” offering exceptional landscapes and wildlife viewing opportunities.

Rocky Terrain and Switchbacks:

From Shiroka toward the peak, the road becomes significantly more difficult, steeper, and rockier. Driving proceeds across sharp switchbacks cutting through massive granite rock formations characteristic of Pelister’s terrain.

Pelister Peak (2,601 m):

The final destination is Pelister Peak itself, where the Antenna is located. This stands as one of the highest mountain peaks in the country, featuring significantly lower temperatures and crystal-clear high-altitude air compared to the starting point.

Panoramic Vistas:

The peak’s position provides a spectacular 360-degree view. In clear weather, Lake Prespa, the entire Pelagonia Valley, Galichica, Korab, Solunska Glava, and to the south even Mount Olympus in Greece can be clearly seen.
