Pelister National Park celebrated its 77th birthday in the best possible way – with fieldwork and new content for visitors. The jubilee served as the occasion for a major work action to clear, open, and landscape a new hiking and biking trail.
A New Connection Between the Village of Capari and the Heart of the Park
The new 4-kilometer-long trail with an elevation gain of 500 meters represents a strategic connection between the village of Capari and the National Park. This section will be part of a larger circular trail system that will eventually connect the villages of Capari and Rotino with Pelister’s tourist points, providing a new approach for nature lovers.
Joint Action with the Local Community and Enthusiasts
The success of this work action is the result of excellent coordination and support from the local population, as well as active hikers and cyclists from the Extreme Bike Team Bitola. This is a true example of how, through joint forces and a volunteer spirit, lasting values can be created for all park visitors.
Working Meeting of the Four National Parks
Birthday activities continue at the Pelister National Park Info Center, which is hosting a working meeting of representatives from all four national parks in North Macedonia. This meeting is crucial for exchanging experiences and jointly planning future projects for nature conservation and the development of sustainable tourism at a national level.
