The safest and most visible trail for climbing Pelister Peak. Due to its structural characteristics and installed winter markings, it is the primary choice for mountaineering in snowy conditions.

Detailed Trail Description

Primary Macadam Segment:

The route starts from the Info Center. The first 8 kilometers follow an exclusively wide macadam road. This allows for a steady pace and gradual elevation gain without technical obstacles.

High-Mountain Pastures (Shiroka Livada):

After the macadam section ends, the trail emerges at the Shiroka Livada locality. In this zone, forest vegetation ceases, and the terrain transitions into high-mountain pastures with open views. Here, the trail continues as a classic hiking path that intersects the main road at certain points.

Winter Safety:

A key feature of this trail is the installed winter marking (metal poles) that indicates the safe direction of movement when the terrain is under deep snow, avoiding zones with a high risk of avalanches.

Summit and Descent Options:

The destination is Pelister Peak (2,601 m), accessed directly via the trail. Upon return, most hikers use the same route due to its visibility or combine it with a descent via the “Bolnici” (Hospitals) trail.
