The trail is a classic hiking route that winds through the native forest belt of the five-needle pine – Molika. It features a moderate elevation change and offers direct access to the unique geological formations of Baba Mountain.
Initial Segment and Ascent:
The trail starts from Hotel Molika (1,420 m) with a continuous ascent lasting about 30 minutes to the Kopanki Mountain Hut (1,630 m). This stretch passes through a dense pine forest with a clearly defined dirt trail bed.
Jorgov Kamen and Panoramic Viewpoints:
From Kopanki Hut, the slope gradient decreases. The trail leads to the Jorgov Kamen viewpoint (1,747 m), where the forest thins out, providing a clear view of the Pelagonia Valley and the city of Bitola.
Geological Features (Stone Rivers):
Along the route, hikers pass by the so-called “stone rivers” (moraines). These are striking accumulations of granitic blocks formed through glacial processes, representing one of the most important natural phenomena in the park.
Endpoint – Crveni Steni:
The destination, Crveni Steni, is located at an altitude of 1,800 m. The location is recognizable by its prominent, rugged rock formations.
Available Water Source:
A mountain water fountain is available at Jorgov Kamen, which remains active for most of the year.
